SHARING OF SOME EXPERIENCES OF ORGANISERS AND AUDIENCE WHO ATTENDED THE CONCERTS DURING
"PEDDADA SURYAKUMARI" USA-VISIT-2010 AT MIAMI- SOUTH FLORIDA, HOUSTON, DALLAS, SAN ANTONIO, SEATTLE, SANDIEGO, SACRAMENTO, CHICAGO.
APPLAUDS
- When she was singing "Alasiti, Solasiti", I was sitting next to an elderly lady. She covered her face completely with her sari (pyta anchu) and then started crying. As the song reached climax, she could not control herself and was sobbing all the way through.
- Almost all the audience came to me and personally thanked me and said it was the one of their best so far.
- The highlight is her "Bhakti Bhavam", in her devotional songs. Some people said, Tyagaraja is not dead because his "Atma" entered Surya Kumari's garu's body and made her sing. Someone else said, it is not that lady who is singing there. She got into a translation body (Punakam) through Saraswathi Devi, that is why she is singing like that.
No one in the audience dared to give her a shake hand or hug. They just requested if they can touch her feet and go.
- The Pujari of the temple, who is performing the pujas far away and who is not connected with this concert, could not control his emotions. He said he was too moved listening to her.
- As an organizer, I watched every one in the audience. No one blinked their eye, I can clearly observe, how deep they sank listening to her. This is my 100th event, I organized or participated. It is very common to anticipate Telugu people gossiping and making noise with no regard to the performer or the other audience.
Four years ago, I enacted in a super suspense thriller drama. The audience including the children was totally silent for 1 hour. Then came this concert. It was a pin drop silence. Overall, it was a great experience having her sing in Sacramento.
- She is very famous in Andhra Pradesh, particularly in Coastal Andhra. If you google/yahoo search her, we understand that she gave tons of high-profile concerts.
I talked to my friends at Houston and they were completely immersed into the deep ocean of music and forgot the surroundings while listening to her devotional songs of "Annamacharya Kirthanas". Also, the concert was scheduled for 3 hours and the audience requested her repeatedly for additional songs and it went on for 4 hours and the temple organizers had to force them to stop due to their time constraints.
- Even the violinist, who played for several top notch players, had wiped his eyes.
- Mrs. Suryakumari garu, is something very special. If her renderings cannot make the Divine step down the pedestal and visit us, I don’t know what else can.
A very truly remarkable lady, blessed with the divine gift of calling and singing to God, and able to make Him listen to her.

- I am sure I was not the only one who was overwhelmed with emotion, while Smt Surya Kumari garu was singing. A few people spoke, that all felt the same. It was probably one of the best Karnatic vocal performance I have heard ever. She sang for three hours. I think, the ambiance was perfect - the divinity in her voice matched the divine presence in the temple.
- The concert was amazing! Her voice was par excellence, her poise beyond
comparison! An afternoon of pure ecstasy thru devotion and art mixed
to perfection.
- Sri Ganesha Sthuthi to Mangala Harathi, every moment was precious!! Don't know how many such afternoons God has in store for me, but hope there won't be an excuse to miss them!!
